Workshop: Origami

I have very little experience with origami though I’ve always, always enjoyed it. When my mom came from Japan she bought us tons of origami paper and a book and we spent hours making up things! As I grew up, I forgot the things I’ve learned. I couldn’t and still can’t fold a swan (unlike some people who have it memorized).

I was so excited when our teacher for the day, Leonard a.k.a Leo, told us that we will be doing clothing origami! I’ve always seen pictures of that on the internet and wondered how they make those. I was really eager to learn during the workshop and even though I had a crappy first try during class, I was so motivated to make them as beautiful as the ones in the video tutorials that as soon as I went home I went looking for paper and quickly loaded the video tutorials on youtube! 

I really really enjoyed this workshop, and honestly I would have kept origami-ing the night away if i could! 

Instead of using plain paper I decided to mix it up a bit by printing patterns and prints I found online and cut them up to use for the origami. After doing so many origami’s I decided on 4 pieces: A top with a skirt to pari with, the royal wedding gown (not in white, haha!) and a t-shirt dress! :)

UGH. SWEATERS! These are all so looovely. Kind of obsessing over them. <3

I am currently soo conflicted with my style, it frustrates me. Apparently, my brain just decided to change direction. Loving these though. I think i shall get inspiration from them. As you can see, there are all wearing some sort of jacket/vest. I love outerwear, so i guess thats a good start. :)

Spent a good portion of yesterday looking through almost all of the spring summer collections from New York Fashion Week. I love all the use of grey and white this season. Love all the slouchy sweaters, will definitely get my hands on those. London Fashion Week has started too, pretty excited to see the Burberry show later. They’re live streaming the show. So excited to watch. And its no secret i love the English. Haha. Lots of great fashion, lots to look forward to! :D

This was one of my favorites from Rodarte SS2011. It looks so summery, yet so strong. i love it!

My new favorite model. Meet Bambi Northwood Blyth. You might have seen her before, but its only recently that i found out what her name was. Hee. She is absolutely gorgeous. I love her strong jaw and her eyebrows! (I believe she’s from Australia) I actually first saw her in this post from the Sartorialist. Dont you just looove her? She reminds me of Reina from ANTM. Haha.
